Harry’s Story
At 17 years old I hadn’t thought about what to do with the rest of my life. I eventually went on to graduate with a Diploma of Building Studies. Being the only son in a Middle-Eastern family, I felt pressure to live up to generations of builders who came before me. Looking back, I felt out of place but wasn’t emotionally equipped to deal with much at the time. Life was a checklist based on others’ expectations. The harder I worked to fit in, the further I was from contentment.
It wasn’t until I engaged in my own therapy that I was able to explore the origin of my struggles; confronting issues that I avoided most of my life. Through this process, I learned the value of authenticity, self-awareness and human connection. I understand how daunting it can feel to reach out, so I work to ensure clients feel safe, heard and understood. I believe actively exploring our inner world with a skilled therapist can deepen our understanding of ourselves and others. In my experience, this can lead to a more conscious and harmonious existence. I aim to facilitate a space where, together, we can gently confront the things that are holding you back.
I feel extremely fortunate to be working in a profession that I love. I regularly attend workshops/trainings and am fascinated by the developments in the art and science of Psychotherapy. At the same time, I engage in the lifelong journey of personal development, and maintain a high standard of practice through regular clinical supervision. Whether coming to terms with our past, or making sense of the present, I believe in our innate capacity for healing and enduring change.
I look forward to connecting with you and hearing your story.
