‘Walking With Intention’ Men’s Group

Starting on Monday evening 26th February 2018. Click here for dates and times …

“Walking with intention is about bringing a deep sense of intention to our lives. It’s about being conscious in our choices and our actions, it’s about being present to life in every moment, and it’s about embracing who we are, what we bring to the world, and the deep sense of connection that we have to ourselves, to others and to everything around us. It’s the practice of Being Truly Alive …”

If you are seeking to embrace life, to try to walk with more intention in your day to day life, in your choices, and in your relationships, then this men’s group is something to consider …

  • Are you seeking to connect to yourself, and understand yourself more?
  • Are you interested in developing real and genuine connections with other men?
  • Do you aspire to feel more alive and more connected to the world around you?
  • Are you willing to challenge your old or existing narrative of ‘you’ in order to create a new and more authentic narrative for yourself and your life?
  • Do you want to let go of old habits and ways of thinking, behaving and being?
  • Do you want to learn the practice of being truly alive in every moment?

This Men’s Group, facilitated by an experienced professional, will support you to discover and taste more of your potential as a human being.

Perhaps you can relate to one or more of the following:

  • You’re involved in your own personal and/or spiritual development, but you’re wanting to take it to the next level
  • As you evolve you may be leaving some connections behind and you’re wanting to find and develop new and meaningful connections
  • You sometimes find it hard to develop deeper connections with other men, something which you aspire to have
  • You value the learning and growth that can arise from sharing stories and experiences with other men
  • You feel vulenerable about sharing your unhealthy habits and addictions for fear of being judged, yet you want to be accepted for who you are
  • You’re hard on yourself and recognise the importance of developing the practice of compassion – towards yourself and others
  • You have experienced moments of being centred, at your best, feeling fully alive, and you’re wanting to nurture and multiply those experiences

If you can relate to some, or all, of these things, you are not alone.

What are Men’s Groups?

Men’s groups can be extremely powerful ways to support men to transform their lives.

Men’s groups aren’t there to ‘fix’ you or your situation or to give you answers. One of the reasons for this is that they don’t work on the basis that you are ‘broken’ and need fixing. It is through the sharing of stories and experiences, and the learning of simple and mindful practices, that men can often provide each other with insights and new ways of looking at aspects of their lives. The interactions with other people in the group, and with the facilitator, are also central to this process.

A professionally facilitated men’s group provides you with an opportunity to share your experiences with other men, and to hear what other men may be experiencing, and learn or reinforce ‘walking with intention’ practices all within in a safe environment. A safe environment is one that includes having a clear mutual respect and confidentiality framework.

How the ‘Walking with Intention’ Men’s Group works:

  • There will be a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7 men in the group, plus the facilitator.
  • Groups will usually be held approximately on a fortnightly basis.
  • If there is space you may join the group at any time. You may be invited to have a conversation with the facilitator prior to your enrolment being confirmed.
  • Your commitment is initially for 4 successive sessions, though you’re encouraged to explore remaining in the group on a longer term basis.
  • The group works within a confidentiality framework – which will be discussed whenever someone new joins the group
  • The benefits you receive from the group will largely be related to your level of participation in the group, which includes giving and receiving feedback.
  • You always get to choose your own level of participation. You don’t have to say or do anything that doesn’t feel right for you

A facilitated men’s group is a powerful resource for empowering men to learn or re-learn to create happier and more meaningful lives, and to practice walking with intention in every moment

Through participation in the Walking with Intention Men’s Group you can:

  • Explore practices that will support you to be more present in your life and more connected to your authentic self
  • Explore themes often not ‘talked about’, such as vulnerability, shame, insecurities, strengths, etc.
  • Learn how to communicate more effectively with those around you
  • Feel less stress and greater confidence about connecting with other men and having ‘real’ conversations
  • Learn how to deepen your relationship with other men … beyond ‘pub talk’
  • Explore what holds you back in your life – emotionally, intellectually, attitudinally
  • Learn to be more compassionate to, and more understanding of, yourself and/or others
  • Appreciate sharing and listening to stories – perhaps even learning to recognise yourself more in others’ experiences
